Hi! My name is Gina Carnegie, I have lived and worked in the Kamloops area since 2009. I love to spend time with my family and friends, enjoy nature, video games, being creative, music, and reading a good book.
I completed my Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology in 2014 and began working in Indigenous communities as a counsellor immediately after this. Prior to that I was a youth support worker from 2010 to 2013. I did my counnselling practicum at Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services working with young people charged with violent and sexual offenses.
I offer counselling for individuals seeking support with addictions, anger management, domestic violence, communication, boundaries, anxiety, and depression. I enjoy working in Indigenous communities and offer culturally-sensitive services including smudging and land-based sessions.
I am currently training to become a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and have completed all training workshops. I am now completing my supervision requirements to finalize my SEP certification.
My practice is guided by my belief that each person is the expert in their own life and as such, I want to hear your story. Through telling your story I believe that we can work together to make positive, meaningful changes in your life. Every person deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, and I value the courage it takes to reach out and talk to someone about the hard parts of your story.
I am honored to be part of your journey.
